Aventador Lamborghini: Concorso Italiano 2011 winner

Lamborghini AventadorThe Lamborghini LP700-4 Aventador has been awarded the “Five Diamond Engineering” at the Concorso Italiano in Monterey to celebrate the best Italian cars of the year.

Unveiled in March at the Geneva Motor Show, the Lamborghini Aventador is clearly one of the model years. The replacement for the Murcielago will no doubt be outdated in the year-end balances for the new Porsche 911 991 (official launch at the Frankfurt Motor Show in mid-September), but it does. The fireball is clearly a great success.

The Aventador LP700-4 has also received a new award: the “Five Diamond Engineering Award” from the famous Concorso Italiano in Monterey, Calif., also the site of the recent Pebble Beach Concours. It was there that is awarded every year the price of the best Italian car, and this 2011 edition has smiled at the newest of Lamborghini. With its 6.5-liter V12 700 horsepower and 690 Nm, we can say that this title is somewhat deserved.

“We are honored to receive this award,” said Maurizio Reggiani, head of research and development of Lamborghini. “The team is very proud of its Aventador LP700-4, its design and its engineering make it so special. “
