Lightning GT: soon in testing

Lightning GTPresented in 2008 and then repeatedly postponed, the sporty electric Lightning GT will soon begin the testing phase road. The goal: a marketing before the end of 2012.

The idea of ​​creating a 100% electric supercar was born in 2007 in the spirit of the small British manufacturer Lightning. Ready announced in 2008, the Lightning GT was eventually postponed because of budget problems. The brand was then presented a version called the series in late 2010, showing that the project was not abandoned.

This one comes, finally, take a little more shape with the announcement early next Lightning road test. A trial period of 12 months on British roads for 14 copies of the model. This long phase should logically lead to a sale of the car that would occur at best at the end of 2012.

The price was around 200 000 euros. For what car exactly? It begs the question. Initially thought to be powered by four electric motors, plug technique was reduced to 2 units to develop about 400 horsepower and 700 horsepower rather than as previously announced. Lightning, however, announced a change from 0 to 96 km / h in 5 seconds and a range of 160 km.
