Frankfurt 2011: BMW Z4 on all fours

BMW Z4At BMW, the era of downsizing is fully assumed. There is little we announced that the Z4 would be entitled to the new 2-liter supercharged entry-level, the manufacturer announced its debut in Frankfurt.

Finally, it is not one but two 6-in line will disappear from the Z4 this fall. The entry-level sDrive 23i, powered by the 6-line 2.5-liter 204 hp, gives way to a 4-cylinder turbo version with 184 hp. The power down, but the maximum torque increases to 270 Nm (20 Nm). And character of the 6 line, major cultural argument for BMW roadsters, will probably be late …

Another alternative, that of the 3-liter 258 hp of sDrive 30i, still in favor of the same “four legs” but with 245 hp. Obviously, the quest for efficiency is the primary goal of this redesign, as the arrival of the 8-speed automatic transmission (optional). Consumption, respectively announced the 6.8 and 7.3 l/100 km, performance at 6.9 s and 5.6 s for 0 to 100 km / h.

The first 6 in line will now be reserved for the Z4 sDrive 35i (3-liter twin-scroll turbo, 306 hp). This new range of engines will be effective in the wake of the Frankfurt show for the fall.BMW Z4
