Mercedes SLK55 AMGMercedes is expected to present at the next Frankfurt Motor Show with the SLK55 AMG’s new 5.5-liter V8 to 422 horsepower, but without the turbos.

At the Geneva Motor Show in March, Mercedes unveiled to the public its SLK roadster. Six months later, the German automaker plans to introduce the AMG version of the model. This presentation will take place at the IAA in September.

The Mercedes SLK55 AMG is equipped with the new 5.5-liter V8 engine air version, without the turbos, not to be more efficient than the SL. Still, the machine will develop 422 horsepower, an increase of 62 horsepower compared to the old SLK AMG. Consumption and CO2 emissions will be scaled down (30%) due to the Stop and Start and management of the cylinders allows the engine to run on only four cylinders when it is enough.

Mercedes also announced that a diesel version of the SLK (250 CDI) will be offered with a 4-cylinder 204 horsepower.
