Very active these days, Lotus is back in the news in mid-week. Brand chaired by Dany Bahar has indeed opened a test circuit in his famous Hethel factory. This is a first for the manufacturer, first launched in style along with the current Lotus drivers, but also to former glories as Jean Alesi and Nigel Mansell (F1 World Champion in 1992).

Concretely, this is a track of 3.6 km long and 12 m wide. The circuit has 12 stalls that can accommodate 24 cars at one time. It is also consistent with the safety regulations in force at the FIA. As a result, the circuit can accommodate in the theory of races like the GT Racing and Formula 1 testing.

But if Lotus has spent more than 11 million euros for the new facility is primarily for use as a test circuit for its upcoming models. Future Spirit (released in 2013) would for example be one of the first heat in the tires on this circuit to refine its development.Lotus Circuit
