To prove that a sports car with a diesel engine is not as strange as it might seem very nice Mercedes seemed to new SLK250 CDI shooting with the Mercedes C 111-II D. A concept from the 70s with a big diesel.

The C111 II D we see here in 1976 at the Nardo circuit in a whole raft of nature speed records drop like an hour driving around with an average speed of 253.77 km / h. Not bad for a five-cylinder diesel with 190 hp.

The SLK250 CDI but has slightly more power (204 hp), but does sprint in 6.7 seconds to 100 km / h and a top speed of 243 km / h.

The average consumption is 4.9 liters per 100 km and switching is done with a 7-speed automatic. Later, there’s a 6-speed manual transmission come.
