Porsche: a new supercar planned

Porsche 918 GT2To bridge the gap between the 911 and 918 GT2 RS Spyder, Porsche has confirmed its intention to launch a new limited edition supercar.

The 918 Spyder is not yet commercially available and the next generation of the 911 not yet formally presented, but it does not prepare for the future of Porsche in the longer term. The next brand? A new supercar, period. That will delight all fans of the German manufacturer.

Bernhard Maier, Sales Manager of Porsche, has just confirmed officially. The mark of Zuffenhausen works well on a new model that would be a limited edition sold more than 230,000 euros. Porsche’s objective is simple: fill the gap between the GT2 RS (below) and the 918 Spyder (above). The first, capable of reaching 100km / h in 3.5 seconds, is in fact sold 239,000 euros, while the 918 Spyder, a hybrid V8 with 500 horses can run up to 320 km / h, is offered at 770,000 euros.

Although development costs are enormous, the German manufacturer relies on strong customer demand for this type of model. Bernhard Maier also explained that the technology developed for this new supercar would later develop additional versions of the Boxster and Cayman, and a long wheelbase Panamera and another retractable roof.Porsche 911 GT2
