Volkswagen has been busy testing the Polo WRC. The first video of the hot rolling rally wagon just arrived with us in the newsroom.

Volkswagen has decided to double world champion Carlos Sainz to work on fine-tuning the Polo R WRC, Which by 2013 will also join the WRC and the lives of the brands MINI, Citroën and Ford acid has to make.


With 300 horsepower and a motivated and experienced team that should certainly succeed, but whether enough to the WRC within a few years to win remains to be seen.

“Yes,” it seems to me a pretty safe answer. It must be weird to walk the rally version of a car just as groggy look like the standard model. Fender and Slides have been doing a lot of good, decent, and finally a normal size for functional rubber wheels makes it for me.


The team behind this wanted to Evoque to the 2012 Dakar Rally with this car. Hard fight against the Bowlers and of course especially Volkswagen .

Now this car is not entirely fair. Everything is “homemade” by Rabe Race Cars.  Up front is a BMW 3.0 six-cylinder  diesel (275pk/650Nm). Shifting is a 6-speed ZF racebak coupled to a 2-speed transfer case (high / low gear ring). A 260 liters tank provides sufficient coverage. It weighs 1900kg eventually. It has already looked better than the comparable accumulated Countryman last year.

Yes, the VW Polo may take credit to ironing as Skoda has finished testing.
The time until 2013 before Ford in the WRC it is driving. The Polo R WRC already seems ready for, the tracks and trails will however still a lot to be tested and adjusted. A ‘dirty’ job that Skoda is currently mainly seemed to recover.

Good for 300 hp and 350 Nm. Exactly 1200 kg light or heavy. Incorporates a four-wheel drive and a kickass spoiler.

A nice combo, but again very similar to the WRC homologation models will require, we have been unfortunately little. For now we can only dream that VW in 2013 with a 300 hp 4 × 4 R Polo with hefty wheel arches is developed for the street.  Volkswagen does this!
